APPROACH / ENTRANCE CHANNEL

Latitude: 220 32.5’ N. Longitude: 0690 45.8’ E. Cannel dept 13.90 meters. Caution should be exercised when navigating in this area due to the proximity of the offshore single point mooring buoys (SPMs) and subsea piplines passing through the area. Vessels approaching from seaward are advised to use the buoyed channel on British Admiralty chart BA 682. Masters of deep draft Tankers should be aware of the shallow area north of Chandri Buoy. It is recommended that the Master should time vessel’s ETA to transit the deep water channel during flood tide to maximise under keel clearance.
