(Okha climate is with salt humidity through out the year. Min temp. – 29 degree/ Max temp - 38 degree in Monsoon period i.e. 15th May to 15th Sep. In summer min temp is 35 degree / max temp – 48 degree, in winter min – 20 degree and max temp is 32 degree.

At coal berth LOA more than 180 metres, BEAM more than 30 metres possible with submission of LOI to GMB Vessels, which can complete cargo operations within 48 hours, will be given priority for berthing.

Cargo operation are done at anchorage using Private floating cranes & barges. The daily output of fertilizer / limestone / pet coke / coal will be around 10000 to 12000 MT subject to weather condition at anchorage. At alongside berth vessels can load cargo upto 7.5 meter draft by ships crane and grabs.
COAL & LINESTONE DISCHARGE
Coal / Lime stone / Pet Coke / Fertilizer discharge at anchorage will be done by using private floating cranes & barges subject to weather condition. After completing lightening cargoes and attaining 7.5 meter draft the vessel will be shifting to alongside berth to discharge balance cargo by using ships cranes and grabs.
Due to the bad condition of Port Cranes and Barges receivers / shippers use only Private Cranes and Private Barges to discharge / loading cargo at anchorage. Discharging / loading method - Along Side discharge / loading using ships equipment.
Average discharge rate for coal & Limestone using ships grabs is about 10,000 to 12,000 MT per day. As per port norms 1500 MT per hook per day.
SODA ASH LOADING
Average loading rate for Soda Ash (1kt Jumbo Bags) using ships gears about 2000 to 2500 MT per day alongside jetty. Vessel will load cargo up to 7.5 Mtr draft, remaining cargo will be loaded at anchorage by barge operation.
