INSTRUCTION TO VESSEL / MASTER
Vessel to contact VTS Khambhat on VHF CH. 16 & 09 (Mob. No: 09909903748 - 24 hrs.) - for needful guidance to get the safe anchor position as this being a tidal port and there prevails heavy under-currents and hefty swelling in the sea.
Max. 7 vessel’s can be accommodate in the Inner anchorage as per the discretion of the Port officer
Depending on the weather conditions . Inner anchorage around 3-4 NM from Essar Fairway. Vessel coming for Loading And Unloading of Reliance Industries cargo having separate anchoring position which is directed by Reliance Radio Room . Total two vessels can be accommodated in the Tanker anchorage.
Gujarat Maritime Board has introduced a special Vessel Monitoring operation called “VTPMS” (Vessel Traffic & Port Management Systems) for Gulf of Khambhat, duly entrusting the assignment to a private agency, M/s. Aatash Nor control Ltd. This is in order to control and monitor the Shipping Traffic (all types of movements of vessels including those carrying Hazardous and Non-hazardous Cargo) in the Gulf of Khambhat with modern available technology as per Govt. guidelines. The area covered is from 20° 30’ N Latitude to 071 20 Longitude, as proposed by The Gujarat Maritime Board. Hence any vessel entering / leaving Gulf of Khambhat will be provided with all needful guidance, establishing effective communication back-up on VHF CHANNEL 16 & 09 (24 HRS.) throughout day & night, between VTPMS & Vessel for any clarification with regard to further movements/assistance.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONARY NOTE:
Proper anchor watch to be kept throughout the period at the Anchorage.
Engine should be kept on stand-by so as to be made available within 20 mins. in case of an emergency when spring tides are running.
Heave up the riding anchor to one shackle. Steer well clear, about 35 to 40 from the leading anchor. Let go second anchor. Walk back to get flood lead on second anchor Let go second anchor 1.5 hrs. after high water.
Heave up second anchor 1.5 hrs. before low water Let go second anchor 1.5 hrs. after low water. Never clear the fouled anchors during the middle of the tide. It should be done at slack water i.e. about 1.6 hrs. before relevant end of tide. In case of violent shearing, the steering may be used. Autopilot can be made use of, to steer a course in between yaw.

An Non- immigrant port - crew changes permitted except the restricted nationality namely Nigeria, Bangladesh, China, Burma Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Iran, Somalia and Ethiopia etc also to arrange special Tugs. Cost Rs. 1,00,000/- + GST at inner anchorage and Rs.1,50,000/- + GST at outer anchorage.
GENERAL GROUP FOR IMPORT/EXPORT: No as such Priority. Only first come first serve policy and any mutual long contractual agreement with receivers then priority will be given to them.
GOVERNMENT PRIORITY: Govt. Cargo vessel will get priority

Magdalla outer anchorage is a deep draft area and there is no LOA, Draft, Beam restrictions for vessels, but at a time only 3 vessels can discharge cargo onto barges. Generally the geared vessels coming for discharging cargo because there is no floating crane available at Magdalla.Gearless vessel also be permitted subject to arrangement of floating crane.
PORT: Port ( GMB ) does not have any Tugs / Barges
PRIVATE: All equipment and gear has to be provided by private parties. Private Tugs to be arranged.
Cost Rs. 1,00,000/- + GST at inner anchorage and Rs.1,50,000/- + GST at outer anchorage.

IMPORT: Reliance Liquid Cargo by STS.
EXPORT: Coal / Reliance Liquid Cargo by STS.
